Ever find yourself in a situation where you’re just like God PLEASE GIVE ME A SIGN! Where do I go from here? Am I in the right place? Do I stay with this job? How long do I wait in this season? Do I stay in this relationship? Do I move to that city? Etc..
All too often I find myself asking God to speak to me or send some supernatural sign to give me assurance that He’s with me, and it never fails that He sends a word for me! Ex:
- When I was working through a hard heart with my roommate, I came across this sermon here on LOVE and during that time I kept getting different daily devotional verses on loving like Jesus did when he was here on Earth
- When I started an internship that didn’t meet my expectation, the podcast series I follow was focusing on David in their ‘Marked’ series here. Pastor Mike spoke on how David was obedient with the little tasks and dominating the space he was in before God granted him with more. In doing that David learned obedience/discipline and proved his faithfulness to God in sticking with him in the valleys before he got to the mountaintop
- I’m currently in the season where I am expectant that God will open the door to an HR position here in NYC – Transformation Church is doing a series right now titled, “CRAZY FAITH” that’s been speaking to me, and I am also happened to be going through a series titled ‘Covenant’ on the ‘first 5’ app here about Ruth’s story. It’s all about her waiting season and has been giving me so much encouragement.
- In London I had a huge interview that I was nervous for, and when I was on the way to the interview the First 5 app devotional I read was on Moses and how God sent him to give a message to Pharaoh and spoke through him so that all Abraham had to do was open his mouth. I knew this was God’s way of telling me He was going to be in that room with me, speaking on my behalf, and not letting me be put to shame (which by the way he didn’t!)
I am sure you have your own examples of when God sends you a timely word (& how good it is– Proverbs 15:23) I want to remind you these moments aren’t coincidental! They’re God’s way of communicating His message to you and reminding you that He is there with you in this fight. He was with you, He is with you, and He will be with you forevermore!
