Last week, I went to watch an orchestra play Vivaldi’s 4 seasons at Carnegie Hall with a group of colleagues.
At intermission, me and co-worker spoke about how much it takes for a musician to have a seat on stage at the world famous Carnegie Hall.
I’m sure the majority of the musicians we watched that night probably had that exact evening etched on their vision boards and written in their prayer diary ever since they were still students studying at Julliard or the likes.
And now, what was once their wildest dream is a part of their weekly routine.
It reminded me of my own life, there were times not so long ago when I could only dream of coming home to a small studio of my own in the Upper East Side, going for runs at E. Hudson River Park, and working in HR for an amazing company in NYC.
Now, that is my reality. And I won’t lie- sometimes when my alarm clock goes off in the morning I find it a burden to go for a run or get ready for work. I forget my weekly routine was once my dream.
This short post is a reminder to appreciate your ordinary. Because I’m sure once upon a not-so long time ago, this was what you were praying for: (a job, a home, a spouse, a promotion, etc)
From my heart to yours,
Grace
