This was my first week living in my studio in Upper East Side, New York. As I sit here thinking of which painting to hang above my loveseat, I can’t help but be overwhelmed by God’s incredible faithfulness.
Rewinding, I came back to NYC 2 months ago on a mission to find a job in HR after spending a year abroad. The odds were against me. My resume didn’t line up and I was looking in a city as competitive as NYC during a time of the year when most businesses close their books for the quarter and go into the holiday lull.
To the naked eye, my situation was bleak. I won’t lie and say that I wasn’t pushed past my limits at times, that I didn’t have break-downs or days of doubt, but fervent hopeful prayer and God’s spirit strengthening me got me through.
Reflecting, choosing to come to NYC rather than move back to the comfort of my parents’ home in LA 10 mins from the beach is the biggest step of faith I’ve taken thus far, but I felt something so strongly tell me NYC was the right move.
What is the last thing God instructed you to do?
Ask Him to give you a spirit to start doing it and to align you exactly where He wants you to be.
When you follow God’s steps- He makes a way. It is up to you to respond to the call and continue forward even when the odds are against you, when people start giving up on you, when it feels like His favor is no longer on you, and when you can’t see the vision clearly.
Madeleine L’Engle says, “We have to be braver than we think we can be, because God is constantly calling us to be more than we are”.
He did it with me by providing a job in HR that surpassed my expectations and a studio in UES, and He will do it for you!

You can’t do it alone, sis. Our self-power has its limits, but that’s where God steps in and strengthens us with His unlimited power, favor, and wisdom.
He is Hayah—the Great I Am.
He is El Shaddai—the Lord God almighty.
He is El Elyon—the most high God.
